Aaron Judge finishes season with most popular selling MLB jersey

Aaron Judge

The biggest breakout star of the 2017 MLB season also ended up with the most popular selling jersey: Aaron Judge.

More Judge jerseys were sold on MLBShop.com this season than any other player’s jersey, according to a release shared by MLB on Tuesday. The rookie, who slugged 52 home runs during the regular season, finished ahead of the Cubs’ Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo on the list. Bryant had the No. 1 selling jersey in both 2015 and 2016.

The Cubs had the most players in the top 20 for jersey sales (four), while the Dodgers were second (three).

Here’s the full list of the top 20 most popular jerseys this season (based on sales from MLBShop.com of Majestic jerseys since Opening Day):

1. Aaron Judge, New York Yankees
2. Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs
3. Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs
4. Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers
5. Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals
6. Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants
7. Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals
8. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
9. Francisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians
10. Javier Báez, Chicago Cubs
11. Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers
12. Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox
13. Jose Altuve, Houston Astros
14. Kyle Schwarber, Chicago Cubs
15. Gary Sánchez, New York Yankees
16. Cody Bellinger, Los Angeles Dodgers
17. Dustin Pedroia, Boston Red Sox
18. Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves
19. Noah Syndergaard, New York Mets

Given that Judge plays for the most storied franchise in MLB and became an MVP candidate out of nowhere, it makes sense that he had the most popular selling jersey. The guy was a superstar this year and even had an entire fan section named after him.
