Andrew McCutchen pay stub posted online and it is wild

Andrew McCutchen pay stub

It’s one thing to read that an athlete has signed a multi-million dollar contract and know that they are rich, but it’s quite another to actually see the visual evidence.

With that in mind, we present this Andrew McCutchen pay stub reflecting his latest check from the first two weeks of May. The stub shows that he received a direct deposit of just over $427,000 for two weeks of work this month.

The pay stub was posted on Reddit by someone who says their friend found it in the visitor’s clubhouse while taking a tour of Wrigley Field. You’ll notice immediately that McCutchen has been paid just over $2.24 million so far this season, which is kind of a lot.

Another thing that stands out on the stub is list of taxes McCutchen has to pay. The taxes are endless, and that is because athletes must pay taxes in nearly each state where they play. It’s a messy situation that costs them extra money, and it’s also something most fans do not consider when they talk about how much money athletes make. But when you’re taking home nearly half a million every two weeks, you probably don’t worry too much about the taxes.

Anyone else get lost trying to figure out where the commas go?
