Anthony Rizzo makes incredible catch in foul territory (Video)

Anthony Rizzo is know for his exploits with a bat in his hands, but on Wednesday he made one of the better catches you’ll see on a ball in foul territory.

In the top of the sixth inning, Ryan Braun hit a pop fly down the first base line that looked destined to land among the crowd. However, Rizzo had other ideas. He tracked the ball towards the wall, jumped up on the tarp, stepped on the wall, and made the catch as he landed beyond the first row.

The umpires gathered to determine if Braun was indeed out on the play or if Rizzo’s catch would go down as one that was highlight reel worthy but did not have an impact on the game. They ultimately ruled the catch good and Jonathan Lucroy, who was on first base, was awarded second base.

Whether or not Rizzo’s grab is catch of the century material is up for debate.

It was pretty impressive though.
