Aroldis Chapman signs with Yankees

Aroldis Chapman Yankees

Aroldis Chapman will be signing with the New York Yankees.

Chapman is going to the Yanks on a five-year, $86 million deal, as first reported by FOX’s Ken Rosenthal. His contract includes a full no-trade clause for the first three years and a limited no-trade clause for the final two. It also includes an opt-out after three years.

The Yankees are getting Chapman back five months after they traded him to the Cubs for Adam Warren and three other prospects.

Chapman went 4-1 with a 1.55 ERA last season between the Yankees and Cubs. He struck out 90 batters in 58 innings and remains one of the toughest pitchers to hit in all of baseball. That’s why the Yanks gave him the most money any reliever has ever received in MLB history.

The fireballer gets the best of both worlds. He was traded to the Cubs as a rental and led them to a World Series, and now he gets to go back to the Yankees where he enjoyed playing, and now he’ll be paid $86 million.
