Astros to donate $4 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

The Astros are joining the many who have offered to help those who have been affected by the widespread damaged caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc on Texas with the high winds and substantial rain it has unleashed on the state. As a result, there have been lives lost and thousands who have lost what they worked hard for. Among those stepping up to help victims of the catastrophic storm are the Astros, who will donate $4 million for relief efforts.

For the people of Houston, and surrounding areas, recovery from Hurricane Harvey will not take place overnight. However, the more resources provided can expedite the process. Matt Carpenter of the Cardinals has pledged $10,000 for every home run he hits from now until the end of the season. Also, UFC fighter Derrick Lewis put his truck to use to help those in need of assistance.

It’s always heartwarming to see people reach out to those in need. The Astros will certainly not be the last.
