Bryce Harper questions why Redskins would get rid of Kirk Cousins
The Washington Redskins acquired Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith late Tuesday night in a somewhat shocking trade, and you can count Bryce Harper among those living in or around the nation’s capital who don’t agree with the move.
With the Smith trade obviously signifying that the Redskins are moving on from Kirk Cousins, Harper sent a tweet questioning why the team felt the need to make a change at the QB position.
Maybe I’m crazy, but how do you get rid of @KirkCousins8? Isn’t he good? Like really good? Just a thought! #DC pic.twitter.com/lIY4ZeU0fT

Harper’s opinion is shared by many. Smith is more than three years older than Cousins, and Washington is still giving him a four-year extension worth a reported $23.5 million annually. They also sent a third-round pick and a player to Kansas City as part of the deal.
The biggest issue for the Redskins is they already invested nearly $44 million in Cousins over the past two seasons with the franchise tag. They now have nothing to show for it and are going to look really bad if Smith doesn’t pan out. As for where Cousins will end up, our guess is one of these six teams are going to be happy he is hitting the free agent market.
