Watch: Chris Taylor robs Yelich with awesome catch

Chris Taylor catch

Chris Taylor made an incredible play to rob Christian Yelich and the Milwaukee Brewers during Game 7 of the NLCS on Saturday.

Yelich was up with Lorenzo Cain on second and two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The left-handed batter slugged a two-strike pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias deep to the gap in left-center field.

Taylor, who began the game at second before moving to left field when Enrique Hernandez entered the game, made a sliding catch to rob Yelich.

The catch preserved the Dodgers’ 2-1 lead. Not only would that have tied the game if the ball had fallen, but the Brewers would have had a chance to continue a rally with Yelich likely on second or even third and Ryan Braun coming up. Taylor bailed out Urias and manager Dave Roberts with the catch. Roberts gambled by taking out Walker Buehler to face Yelich, and the move almost backfired.

The winner of the game heads to the World Series to face the Red Sox.
