Clint Frazier gets haircut to comply with Yankees’ rules
One of the New York Yankees’ newest acquisitions is already adjusting to life with his new organization. As such, one of his first items of business was to get a haircut to comply with the organization’s policy on appearance, which limits facial hair and hair length.
Clint Frazier shared a picture on Twitter Monday of himself in a barber’s chair as he prepared to have his long hair cut off:

An outfielder from Loganville, Ga., Frazier is (was?) easily distinguishable by his long red hair. He was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. He was traded to the Yankees on Sunday as one of the centerpieces in the massive haul of prospects the Yanks received from the Indians in exchange for reliever Andrew Miller.
Since being drafted, Frazier has shined with an OPS over .800 at three of his minor league stops. He blends a nice combination of power and speed and is a good all-around player. The 21-year-old has struggled since being promoted to Triple-A this season, but he was performing well in Double-A by hitting .276 with 25 doubles and 13 home runs.
The man known as “Red Thunder” may have had to chop off his locks, but he seems excited about his start with the Yankees:
Thank you @Yankees for this amazing opportunity! I can't wait to chase my dream in pin stripes! #Yankees

Though Frazier’s actions may come across as somewhat humorous, don’t overestimate the effect an appearance code. We know of at least one pitcher who stated his refused to play for the Yankees because of their hair policy.
