Cubs fan Keith Hartley robs Adrian Gonzalez of foul ball all while holding baby (Video)

Cubs fan Keith Hartley

A fan at Tuesday’s Dodgers-Cubs game at Wrigley Field made one of the best catches of the year, and he did it all with one hand.

In the bottom of the second inning, pitcher Jason Hammel was batting and popped one foul down the first base line. Adrian Gonzalez went over and reached over the tarp to make the catch, but the fan snagged the ball from right in front of him:

Keith Hartley, a 29-year-old Cubs fan, made the catch all while bottle feeding his 7-month-old son, Isaac.

“I’m just trying to protect him first,” Hartley told the Chicago Tribune. “We have the seating configuration so my two friends were closer to the ball if a sharp foul ball came. We’d all kind of stand up and make a wall.

“This one was a little easier, a pop fly. Just kind of a reaction. It just came to me.”

Hartley reached onto the field of play to make the grab, which qualified as fan interference. It rightly cost the Cubs an out and ended the inning, but Hartley still got his well-deserved 15 minutes of fame.
