Cubs sign Theo Epstein to five-year extension
The Chicago Cubs are 100-game winners for the first time since the Great Depression, and now their team president is being rewarded handsomely.
According to a report by Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports on Wednesday, the Cubs have signed Theo Epstein to a five-year contract extension expected to be worth over $50 million.

Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts confirmed the extension shortly thereafter.

The 42-year-old Epstein took over as Cubs president of baseball operations back in October 2011. Since then, he hired manager Joe Maddon, traded for Anthony Rizzo and Jake Arrieta, signed Jon Lester, Jason Heyward, and Ben Zobrist in free agency, and drafted Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber, to name just a few of his moves.
Maybe now Epstein will be able to use some of that new extension money to buy a more convincing false mustache.
