Darryl Hamilton’s last Facebook update was of him with his sons
Former MLB player Darryl “Ham Bone” Hamilton was killed Sunday in what police believe was a murder-suicide perpetrated by his girlfriend Monica Jordan.
Hamilton hit .291 during his 13-season MLB career as an outfielder, which included stints with the Brewers, Mets, Rockies, Giants and Rangers. The Houston Chronicle says police were sent to his Jordan’s Pearland home in response to a disturbance. They found Hamilton’s body near the entrance. Hamilton appeared to be shot more than once, while there was only one gun shot in Jordan, who was found in a different part of the house.
Hamilton, 50, had a 13-month-old son with his 44-year-old girlfriend. He has two sons from his previous marriage and was extremely proud of his boys. In September and January, he updated his Facebook cover photo with pictures of his two boys (one with all three together and the other of them with Brandon Phillips). On Father’s Day Sunday, he changed his profile picture to the photo seen at the top. As you can tell, it sure looks like Ham Bone loved his sons.
