David Ortiz' performance was one reason, and the other was the performance by Michael Weiner, the new head of the MLB Players' Association. I had hoped that he would take the union in another direction with regard to PED's, since Fehr and Orza were the architects of defense against testing. However, he continued with the same bullcrap that they began, even saying that the 2003 test results were not valid. Where are the courageous players who will go public and demand that the union change its position on the testing issue? It isn't about salaries, it's about protecting members' lives.
