Denard Span shows he is healthy by posting workout video

Denard-Span-laughingDue to various injuries, Denard Span played in just 61 games last season. The veteran outfielder is currently a free agent and in case any teams are wondering the status of his health, Span is aiming to put any concerns to rest.

Span posted a video to his Twitter account on Monday showing himself jumping hurdles as part of a workout along with the caption “I’m just sayin.”

Span had core muscle surgery that delayed his start to the 2015 season until April 19. He also had a disabled list stint due to back spasms and a hip problem that ultimately needed surgery, which prematurely ended his season.

While Span will not command the money of say Yoenis Cespedes, Justin Upton, or Alex Gordon, he can still be productive when fully fit. He’s a solid defender, can steal bases, and is a career .287 hitter who tied for the National League lead with 184 hits in 2014.

The eight second video may not sway a team to offer Denard Span a contract. However, it is a good sign considering how much time he missed last year due to injury.
