Dodgers gave gift bag to David Price’s dog, Astro
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price have been trading friendly tweets this summer, so when the Rays came to town for a three-game series in LA over the weekend, the Dodgers were prepared. They sent over a special gift bag for Price’s famous pooch, Astro, and loaded it up with cool treats.
Included in the gift bag were a Dodgers foam finger, sparkling blue hat, shoe, oversized Dodgers ball, Dodgers Hello Kitty bobblehead doll, and other assorted chew toys, which you can see below via Price’s Twitter account:
What’s with all the gifts, you ask?
It looks like things between Price and the Dodgers started on July 5, when Price tweeted that the Dodgers should trade the Rays Yasiel Puig for very little in return. The Dodgers had a funny reply, and included a mention of Astro:
@DAVIDprice14 How about this? You can come watch him play at Dodger Stadium August 9-11. Two tickets with your name on them. Bring Astro.

Price then reminded the team a few days before the series began that he would be bringing his bulldog to the stadium for the series.
Yo @dodgers y'all said Astro could accompany me at Dodger Stadium!! Have that pooper scooper ready…right field…right in Puig's area

The Dodgers lived up to their tease by giving Price the gift bag. The gifts seemed to leave a good impression on the ace, who pitched seven stellar innings against the Dodgers on Friday before the bullpen blew the game.
Astro has been a big hit in the Tampa area. There was an Astro bobblehead giveaway in April, and the dog was presented with a key to the city of Tampa in December, along with his owner.
