Dodgers reportedly showing interest in Brian Dozier

Another day, another infielder the Los Angeles Dodgers are sniffing around.

According to a report by Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports on Monday, the Dodgers are showing interest in Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, a powerful hitter who could help the reigning NL West champs solve their problems against left-handed pitching.

Dozier, 29, was spectacular in 2016, batting .268/.340/.546 with 42 home runs and 99 RBIs. The Twins, who were the worst team in the MLB last year at 59-103, have already been fielding some interest in him this offseason, and it would make sense for them to sell high on one of their veteran pieces with virtually no chance to contend in the near future.

The Dodgers continue to cast a wide net in their search for infield help, but the right package of talented young prospects might just be able to land them a Dozier-sized fish on the trade market.
