Report: Dodgers have talked to White Sox about possible Todd Frazier trade

The Los Angeles Dodgers won’t be caught with their pants down in the event that free agent third baseman Justin Turner decides to leave the team.

According to a report by Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports on Wednesday, the Dodgers have talked to the Chicago White Sox about a possible trade for slugger Todd Frazier, but their preference remains to keep Turner. Heyman also adds however that the Dodgers have no plans to give in to Turner’s desire for a five-year deal.

Frazier, the two-time All-Star, slashed .225/.302/.464 for Chicago in 2016 with 40 home runs, 98 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases in 158 appearances. He’s also two years younger than Turner and isn’t the first big bat the Dodgers have been linked to in recent days.

The White Sox are showing an increased willingness to sell this offseason, as evidenced by the blockbuster trade of ace lefty Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox. But it sounds like the Dodgers will wait to see what happens with Turner before pursuing anything further on the Frazier front.
