Grown man steals ball from young Yankees fan (Video)

We are not even a full month into the 2014 MLB season, and already we have been reminded that people still suck. During Wednesday night’s game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, Xander Bogaerts went to flip a baseball into the stands while he was warming up in the on-deck circle. He clearly intended to give it to a little kid, but it ended up in the hands of a grown man.

That grown man, who may have been a Red Sox fan, reached right in front of the kid and snatched it away. We know the Sox and Yankees are rivalries and the kid was a Yankees fan, but let’s not get carried away. It even looked like he taunted the kid with the ball before┬áhanding it to someone else.

The guy who was sitting with the young Yankees fan — possibly his father — said it all with his head shake. Haven’t we learned anything from foul ball thieves like these? It’s just a baseball. Let the kid have it.
