Jenrry Mejia suing Major League Baseball, claiming ‘corrupt mob-like activity’
Former Mets closer Jenrry Mejia claimed a witch hunt when he was banned for repeatedly failing drug tests, and now he’s going through with a full-scale lawsuit against Major League Baseball.
Mejia’s lawyer released a statement on Monday announcing a Thursday press conference detailing the findings of an investigation into MLB. Mejia alleges that the league has engaged in “corrupt mob-like activity” and breaking a number of federal and state laws.

It’s a pretty loaded statement, but we’ll see if Mejia and his lawyer can produce any real evidence to back up these claims – or whether he can really win a long legal battle with a multi-billion dollar industry.
Mejia was banned for life back in February after a third positive drug test. He has since called himself the victim of a “conspiracy” led by the league, which has led to this.
UPDATE: Adler deleted her previous tweet and later said the following.
Update: Attorney tells me Mejia is not involved with this case. (I believed it was bc had discussed a similar lawsuit on behalf of Mejia.)
