Jenrry Mejia’s save celebration didn’t sit well with a few Nationals (Video)
The New York Mets picked up a 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals on Friday, but it’s how the game ended that will be top of discussion on Saturday, atleast around the nation’s capital.
Jenrry Mejia nailed down his 26th save of the season and, in typical Jenrry Mejia fashion, had quite celebration afterward.
Now, Mejia is no stranger to theatrics. He did this after striking out Brett Gardner of the Yankees earlier in the season. And we’ve seen a version of the one he did on Friday before.
After Ian Desmond struck out to end the game, Bryce Harper unleashed a death stare towards Mejia.

Then there was Denard Span, who felt the antics were uncalled for.
Ian Desmond says he didn't pay attention to Jenrry Mejia's fish-reel celebration. Denard Span: "That wasn't called for. No need for that."

Jenrry Mejia is certainly emotional and, depending on how it’s expressed, there’s always the chance of someone being rubbed the wrong way by it. Bryce Harper and Denard Span look to fall into that category in this case. Ian Desmond, on the other hand, apparently feels the same way many do in such situations.
Ian Desmond says he didn't see Mejia's jig. Also, directed at himself: "If you don't like it, play better."
