Joe Maddon, Cubs players have heads shaved for cancer research
Chicago Cubs camp is the place to be right now. They’re drawing big crowds, there’s a lot of excitement, and they’re doing their bit for charity, too.
On Saturday, Joe Maddon, bench coach Dave Martinez, and a group of players all got their heads shaved for Maddon’s “Respect Bald” charity benefiting pediatric cancer research. According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, fans could register on a first-come, first-serve basis and pay $100 to have their heads shaved alongside Maddon and the players, along with a t-shirt.
Here’s a look at the festivities:

Maddon loves to keep things loose around his team and this will help. Even better that it’s for a great cause. It’s a tradition that extends back to his days with the Tampa Bay Rays, too. Cubs camp seems like a blast as long as you don’t park too close to the practice fields.
