Josh Hamilton hits pinch-hit, walk-off double (Video)

Josh Hamilton has gotten off to a fantastic start since returning to the Texas Rangers, and his most timely performance came in his only at-bat against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon.

With Boston leading 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, manager John Farrell decided to have closer Koji Uehara intentionally walk Prince Fielder to put runners at the corners with two outs. Fielder has been incredibly hot lately, but they say you never put the winning run on base intentionally.

Hamilton was then called upon as a pinch-hitter, and he made Farrell pay by belting a two-run double to the gap in left-center field. The Rangers walked off with a win — their fifth in seven games since Hamilton was called up to the major leagues.

Hamilton is batting .273 with two home runs and five RBI since his return. That is exactly the type of production the Rangers were hoping to get from him, even if Hamilton has admitted any team that employs him is taking a risk.
