Josh Reddick excited to face Dodgers due to how he was treated by their fans

Josh Reddick is very much looking forward to his opportunity for sweet, sweet revenge against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

After his Houston Astros clinched the AL pennant with an ALCS Game 7 win over the New York Yankees, the veteran outfielder said he was excited to play the Dodgers because of how their fans treated him during his brief stint there.

“Personally, I wouldn’t rather do it against any other team,” said Reddick, according to the LA Times’ Pedro Moura. “I wasn’t really a fan favorite there. I got booed a lot as a home player. I didn’t really fit in, it seemed like they thought. I tried to put that behind me. But I think it’s gonna be fun to go back, especially to beat them. It’s gonna be a really good feeling for me personally.

“Nothing against that team, that organization,” he continued. “There’s a lot of history and a lot of great guys over there. But the fanbase, I think it would be more personal for me to win. Just to get that reaction from them. But it’s not gonna be easy. They’re a really good team, a really good ballpark. Their fans are gonna be loud, just like it was for this series for the Yankees.”

Reddick was acquired by the Dodgers in a midseason trade last year but hit just .258 in his two months with them and never seemed like a good fit in LA. He then signed with the Astros in free agency over the offseason, going on to hit .314 for them this year. Dodger fans are known to be pretty savage, so it’s no wonder that Reddick is hoping for the ultimate way to get back at them.
