Khris Davis loses then regains home run after challenge (Video)

Khris Davis lost and then regained a home run on Monday after the Milwaukee Brewers successfully challenged a call that the outfielder did not touch home plate when circling the bases in the first inning against the Giants.

Davis homered in the bottom of the first off Tim Lincecum to give his team a 1-0 lead, but he didn’t convincingly land on home plate when circling the bases. Giants manager Bruce Bochy came out to talk with the umpires and told them he planned to appeal. They did and the umpires called Davis out for missing the plate.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell was incredulous and challenged the appeal. A replay showed that although Davis’ foot landed beyond the plate, his heel did touch the white part, so they won the challenge and got the run.

In his next at-bat, Davis homered again and made sure to stomp on the plate that time to avoid any controversy.
