Mike Trout DHing for Angels due to finger issue
Mike Trout will only have limited availability for the Los Angeles Angels over the next few days.
Trout is being bothered by a strained right index finger, which is preventing him from throwing. Because of the injury, he is just serving as the Angels’ DH on Thursday and not playing in the field.
Mike Trout said he has a strained right index finger and can’t throw. Started bothering him in Oakland. He has no problem hitting. He expects to DH until it’s better, which he thinks will be a matter of days. #Angels

The issue clearly has not impacted Trout’s ability to hit. He has an 8-game hitting streak during which he has gone 15-for-23, good for a .652 average. He’s also walked 11 times during that span.
For now, Michael Hermosillo is playing center field in Trout’s place.
