Mike Trout fighting through worst hitting slump of his career
The Los Angeles Angels have lost quite a few games over the past week or so, and the way Mike Trout has looked at the plate is a big reason for that. In fact, this is the worst Trout has been over a several-game stretch throughout his entire career.
Trout went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a 7-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. While he’s still hitting .290 on the season, the six-time All-Star does not have a hit in his last six games and has just one in the last eight. As Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register notes, Trout’s 0-for-19 slump is the worst of his career.
History
Mike Trout is 0 for 19, the longest drought of his career. (Seven walks, though.)
The #Angels are losing 7-0 in the 8th, by the way.

Obviously, Trout is going to come around. It’s only a matter of time before he belts three homers in a game and goes on a 15-game hitting streak, but it’s definitely unusual to see him looking so lost at the plate. Perhaps the slugger needs more of his special dugout juice to bust out of the slump.
