MRI for Orioles’ Trey Mancini comes back fine
The Baltimore Orioles received good news regarding an injury suffered by outfielder Trey Mancini.
Mancini was forced to leave Friday’s game against the Cleveland Indians after attempting a sliding catch in foul territory during the eighth inning. On the play, Mancini’s knee made contact with the wall down the third base line below where the padding stops.
The Orioles had Mancini undergo an MRI, which came back “fine” according to manager Buck Showalter.
Mancini also had an MRI today. Came back fine, Buck said.

Mancini was not in Baltimore’s lineup on Saturday, but it sounds as though he is not expected to be out an extended period of time.
Last season, Mancini finished third in American League Rookie of the Year voting after hitting .293 with 24 home runs and 78 RBI. Mancini began this season hitting fifth for the Orioles. Beginning April 5, Showalter moved him to the leadoff spot and Mancini has responded by hitting .328 since then.
