Report: Orioles believed to have best offer on table for Mark Trumbo

mark-trumbo-interview

As it turns out, the best deal on the table for free agent slugger Mark Trumbo may be coming from none other than home base.

According to a report by Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports on Sunday, the Baltimore Orioles are “focused” on keeping Trumbo and are thought to have the best offer on the table.

The 30-year-old Trumbo had a remarkable year with Baltimore in 2016, leading the league with 47 home runs and adding 108 RBIs to go along with an .850 OPS. He also made the All-Star team for the second time in his career and won his first Silver Slugger Award.

Trumbo is being wooed by a number of teams, including this one from the NL West. But it sounds like the preference of the Orioles, who were virtually radio silent during Winter Meetings, is still very much to re-sign their resident baseball wrecker if possible.
