Orioles only expected to receive prospects from Dodgers in Machado trade
The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be in the driver’s seat to land Manny Machado in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, and some details about a deal are emerging.
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported on Tuesday about the deal and said that the Dodgers are “increasingly likely” to land Machado.

Rosenthal says the Orioles’ return will only include prospects and no major league players.

Dustin May and Gavin Lux are two of the prospects who could be involved in the deal. May was a third-round pick in 2016 and has had success pitching in the minors. Lux was a first-round pick in 2016 and has really come on this season, batting .325 with a .922 OPS as a shortstop.
On Monday reports said the Phillies were closing in on a deal, but now it looks like the Dodgers have taken the lead in the sweepstakes.
