Shohei Ohtani could face live pitching this weekend
The Los Angeles Angels continue to get good news on the Shohei Ohtani front, at least with regard to his hitting.
Angels manager Mike Scioscia revealed Friday that Ohtani took live batting practice for two straight days, and there is a possibility he could hit in a simulated game as soon as this weekend.
Mike Scioscia said Shohei Ohtani took BP in the field in Anaheim yesterday and today. Possible he could face some pitching in a simulated setting as soon as this weekend.

Hitting doesn’t seem to be an issue for Ohtani. He’s been cleared to start a program and, while there’s no timetable on his return, it sounds like he’s on his way. It’s the pitching that might take a little longer and has no clear resolution in sight.
