Swarm of bees delay Royals-Angels game (Video)
The Royals and Angels got together for a spring training game Sunday afternoon. However, a swarm of bees did their best to see to it the contest didn’t start on time.
After the Angels took the field, bees gathered in left field, causing the Angels to gravitate to the right side of the diamond. A few fans were forced to vacate their seats as the bees made their way towards the stands. A large contingent gathered on the microphone behind home plate, which produced audible of the buzzing that would cause anyone not found of bees to probably feel uncomfortable.
During the fourth inning, there was a brief delay when a beekeeper came to clear the swarm that congregated on the microphone.
“We never had them migrating,” [Angels manager Mike] Scioscia said via ABC News. “Fortunately they stayed up there until we could get rid of them. If those bees would have stayed on the field, it would have been impossible to play.”
