Terry Pendleton went nuts on Chris Johnson (Video)

Atlanta Braves first base coach Terry Pendleton went nuts on Chris Johnson after the third baseman made the final out in the team’s 5-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

Terry Pendleton Chris JohnsonJohnson hit a ball sharply in the hole with runners on first and second, but Jimmy Rollins made a beautiful diving stop and threw a one-hopper to get Johnson for the last out of the game.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Johnson spiked his helmet after making the out, and the helmet hit Pendleton. As you can see in the video, Pendleton flipped out on Johnson, grabbing the player by the chest and pushing him in the dugout.

Johnson declined to comment about the incident following the game.

Pendleton’s only 5-foot-9, but man did he look intimidating there. He also happens to be one of the most unlikely MVPs in MLB history. A three-time Gold Glover, Pendleton led the league in batting (.319) and hits (187) and won NL MVP in 1991. Barry Bonds probably should have won it that year.
