Sometimes the best part about spring training isn’t seeing if the players are ready for the upcoming season or checking out some of the new talent on your team. As Mets reliever Tim Byrdak reminded us on Tuesday, watching guys goof around and play pranks on one another can be equally if not more entertaining. As you can see, Matt Cerrone of MetsBlog.com was closing out his daily update video for SNY when Byrdak — dressed in classic Hulk Hogan attire — could be seen marching toward the camera in the distance. Sometimes people can crash and burn with the whole Hulkamania impersonation bit, but if you ask me Byrdak executed it about as well as possible.
Byrdak’s stunt came just a day after David Wright had to wear a Denard Robinson jersey at camp as a result of a lost bet. Cheer up, Mets fans. Maybe your team doesn’t have to be successful for the upcoming season to be packed with fun.
