Tim Tebow leaves Arizona Fall League game with apparent leg injury

Tim Tebow left his team’s Arizona Fall League game on Monday after suffering an apparent leg injury.

According to Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com, Tebow had reached base on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the fourth and was thrown out trying to steal second. He slid awkwardly into second base and came up grabbing at his right leg. The former NFL quarterback left the field under his own power but was walking with a limp.

Tebow actually had a base hit earlier in the game, which has been rare during his time with the Scottsdale Scorpions. He is just 5-for-34 with two runs scored and an RBI in 10 AFL games, though he does have a hit in three straight games.

If Tebow was starting to get hot at the plate, the timing of the injury is even more unfortunate. One former MLB scout who is now an analyst unloaded on Tebow and the New York Mets recently and called his presence in the AFL a farce.
