Toledo Mud Hens to wear Ghostbusters jerseys
The original “Ghostbusters” movie will turn 30 this summer, which is enough to make any person who grew up in the 1980s feel really, really old. With the passing of actor Harold Ramis — who played Dr. Egon Spengler in the movie — earlier this week, there was no better time than Thursday for the the Toledo Mud Hens to unveil the “Ghostbusters” inspired uniforms they will wear this season.
The Mud Hens, a Detroit Tigers minor league affiliate, will be wearing the jerseys on May 30. Minor league teams wearing quirky jerseys to scoop up a little publicity is nothing new, but we usually see lame stuff like Christmas in July. The “Ghostbusters” threads are right up there with the tuxedo jerseys worn by an AHL team last year. All class.
