Washington Post uses photo from 2012 for Nationals Game 1 loss in NLDS

The Washington Nationals lost the first game of their division series against the San Francisco Giants 3-2 on Friday. Instead of using a photo from yesterday, the Washington Post used one from two years ago.

Above the dugout is the pretty noticeable “Postseason 2012.” A closer look finds Michael Morse leaning on his bat, next to Jayson Werth. Morse happens to play for Giants now, which is pretty ironic. He’s also the one who tweeted the above photo with the following caption:

“Wait….whaaaaa?!?!?”

The Nationals’ playoff appearance in 2012 is one fans around the Washington D.C. area surely don’t want to relive. They were defeated in the NLDS by the St. Louis Cardinals in heart-breaking fashion as the Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning of game 5 to turn a 7-5 deficit into an eventual 9-7 victory.

Hopefully, this doesn’t awake the ghosts of playoffs past for the Washington Nationals.
