The fans have plenty of reasons for optimism entering the season.
The Yankees in 2017 enjoyed their finest season since 2012. They won 91 games and reached the ALCS, coming a win away from the World Series. Aaron Judge emerged as a star, and then the Yankees added Giancarlo Stanton on top of that, giving them the most fearsome power duo in the league.
Between Judge, Stanton, Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird and Didi Gregorius, as well as Luis Severino, Aroldis Chapman, Sonny Gray, and Dellin Betances, the Yankees have the makings of a very strong young core. Expectations are high for the Yankees in 2018, and the fans have good reason to be excited, as does Stanton.
