Yasiel Puig breaks bat over knee after strikeout (Video)

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was none too pleased after striking out on a Tanner Scheppers fastball in the 8th inning of Monday night’s 4-1 loss to the Texas Rangers.

In his best impression of Bo Jackson, the Cuban phenom took out his frustrations on his bat, snapping the piece of lumber right in half over that tree trunk he calls his right leg.

Puig is, of course, a serial mistreater of baseball bats, though he has been cutting down on his exorbitant amount of bat flips as of late.

The fiery 24-year-old has been otherwise getting the job done for the Dodgers after missing a month with a balky hamstring, posting a ridiculous .481/.533/.704 slash line since his return to the lineup on June 6th. And if Monday is any indication, that leg looks just fine.

While we definitely understand the frustration of striking out in the 8th inning of a close ballgame with runners in scoring position, perhaps part of Puig’s vexation might be stemming from the fact that teammate Joc Pederson is the new talk of Dodgertown and not him. Just saying.
