Report: Yasiel Puig unlikely to be suspended for alleged domestic incident
With Major League Baseball apparently on the verge of finishing their domestic violence investigations, Yasiel Puig is unlikely to face league discipline, according to a report.
According to ESPN’s Pedro Gomez, Puig is not expected to be suspended for his role in an alleged incident at a Miami bar involving his sister.
Gomez stated that there has been no evidence uncovered of anything that would warrant a suspension. No charges were filed, and Puig has reportedly been cooperative with MLB investigators after some initial reservations.
MLB appears to be nearing a resolution with regards to its three internal high-profile domestic violence investigations. Aroldis Chapman was given a 30 game suspension on Tuesday for his behavior, and logic dictates that Jose Reyes – who has actually been charged in his domestic violence case – could face a more severe penalty quite soon.
