Report: Yu Darvish could make season debut next Saturday
In the thick of a bitter race with the Seattle Mariners for supremacy in the AL West, the Texas Rangers are about to get a big boost to their pitching rotation.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of FOX Sports on Saturday, the Rangers are planning for three-time MLB All-Star Yu Darvish to make his season debut next Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
#Rangers plan for Yu Darvish to make season debut next Sat, assuming tomorrow's rehab start goes well, as I said on @FOXSports telecast.

The 29-year-old strikeout machine has been sidelined since undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2015 to repair a torn UCL in his right (pitching) elbow.
We’ll have to wait and see if Darvish has suffered from a loss of velocity and/or control as a result of the surgery. But for a guy who boasts one of the deadliest arsenals of pitches the league has seen in a long time, Darvish could quickly reclaim his ace status atop the Rangers’ rotation.
