Agent: Milos Teodosic originally agreed to sign with Bulls

As Milos Teodosic dazzles in the preseason for the LA Clippers, it’s worth noting that the pairing almost did not happen.

Nick Lotsos, the Serbian point guard’s longtime agent, told EuroHoops.net on Wednesday that his client originally had a verbal agreement with the Chicago Bulls and GM Gar Forman that was later nixed after the Jimmy Butler trade.

“We initially had a deal with the Chicago Bulls,” he said. “We had agreed to a contract close to $30 million for three years, similar to the one Bogdan Bogdanovic signed in Sacramento … We were ready to sign and Forman wanted the deal for one more reason. There are many Serbs in Chicago.

“I knew that the deal will not be completed after the trade,” Lotsos went on. “And two days later, Forman called me and explained to me that the team wanted to rebuild, so getting a 30-year-old point guard without NBA experience was out of the question.”

Though Teodosic was courted by a number of other NBA teams as well, he eventually signed with the Clippers for two years and $12.3 million, much less than that original Bulls deal. Now we can just sit back and enjoy as he puts on captivating displays like these for our entertainment:
