Andre Iguodala ‘progressing well’ in ankle recovery

Andre Iguodala face

Good news for the Golden State Warriors: Andre Iguodala is progressing well in his recovery from an ankle injury.

Entering Friday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Iguodala had missed seven straight games. He is expected to miss a few more, but Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Iguodala’s recovery is “on schedule.”

“Andre is doing well. His progress is good,” Kerr said Friday via the San Francisco Chronicle. “He’s doing a lot of lateral stuff on the court. He’s not going to play obviously (Friday), and I wouldn’t expect him to play Sunday.

“We’ll keep monitoring his progress, and hopefully, he’ll keep getting better and better and we’ll get him back soon. At this point, everything is on schedule.”

The Warriors have said from the start that their main concern was getting Iguodala back and healthy in time for the playoffs. His initial timetable was to be out two weeks. He suffered the injury two weeks ago during a win over Portland. Golden State has won six of seven games without him, their loss coming at San Antonio.

Having last year’s NBA Finals MVP back in time for the playoffs will be a huge boost for the Dubs.
