Boris Diaw: Clippers are not as dangerous as they were

Boris Diaw

Boris Diaw got together with three of his former San Antonio Spurs teammates for a coffee and chat in a video released by a French company, “Bros Stories.”

The video was published on Tuesday but appears to have been filmed prior to the playoffs. Diaw, now with the Utah Jazz after five seasons with the Spurs, talks about who his former mates — Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Patty Mills — will be playing. They talk about San Antonio’s playoff series with the Memphis Grizzlies, and also about the Jazz’s series with the Clippers.

During the video, Diaw says the Clippers are not as dangerous as they used to be, like in 2015 when they eliminated the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.

“Clippers – it’s going to be hard playing against them. The two guys inside is going to be tough — (DeAndre) Jordan and (Blake) Griffin. Last time I remember when they eliminated us a couple of years ago. I felt they don’t play the same,” said Diaw. “They’re not as dangerous as they were a couple years ago.”

So far Diaw’s comment appears to be correct, as his Jazz took the first game of their series with the Clippers.

Another funny moment from the video came when the Spurs players were surprised Diaw knew who San Antonio was facing in the postseason. But Diaw said he only knew because he was prepped about it. Now look at this funny quote from Jazz coach Quin Snyder:

That’s not a surprise considering Diaw is known for having a cappuccino machine in his locker.

Here’s the video from the coffee talk in which Diaw makes his comment about the Clippers. It does contain a curse word.
