Brad Stevens has perfect quote after Game 7 loss
You know what makes Brad Stevens so great as a head coach? He always knows the right thing to say.
Even after his Boston Celtics lost Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals at home on Sunday night to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Stevens found a way to use the disappointment of the loss the right way.
Stevens said after the game that his message to his team is that the “pain is part of the path.”
“I talked about the pain is part of the path,” Stevens said. “We’ve been really fortunate to continuously get better the last couple of years and put ourselves better positions. But when it ends, it’s painful. But that is part of the path, so we have to let it motivate us.”

“Training camp can’t come soon enough. And those will be some fun practices, I’m sure,” he added.
Even though it hurts to lose a game of that magnitude, sometimes that’s what it takes to motivate players to continue working hard so they can come back better the next time. Stevens clearly recognizes that and wasted no time communicating that message to his team.
