Bradley Beal goes off on Wizards after loss

Bradley Beal

The Washington Wizards got tripped up by a bad team for the umpteenth time this season on Sunday, and star guard Bradley Beal has had enough.

After the Wizards fell to the lowly New York Knicks by the final of 101-97, Beal tore into his team with a series of scathing postgame comments.

“Coach preaches it every single day, but till we do it individually and together collectively, we’re going to get our a– kicked in the playoffs,” said Beal, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post. “This isn’t even remotely acceptable with how we’re playing right now because we’re playing like we’re going to be done on April 11.

“I’m tired of talking about this [expletive], man,” the 2018 All-Star continued. “It’s just the same thing over and over. I’m tired of it.

The loss dropped the Wizards to 40-33 on the season, and it is starting to seem less and less likely that they will land a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Granted, they have been without fellow backcourt stud John Wall since the end of January, leaving Beal to do almost all of the heavy lifting. But stumbling to sub-.500 teams has been a running theme for Washington all season, as Wall himself has even attested to as well.
