Bradley Beal says Scott Brooks apologized to him over lack of shots in Game 2

Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal took just 11 shot attempts in Game 2 against Toronto, and head coach Scott Brooks was apparently kicking himself over it afterwards.

The Washington Wizards guard told reporters Friday that Brooks apologized to him for his lack of shots during Wednesday’s 130-119 loss to the Raptors.

“I guess he figured I wasn’t shooting the ball enough, and I guess he thought that was his fault,” said Beal, per Candace Buckner of the Washington Post. “I don’t know. He’s probably [a] confidence giver.”

Beal, who averaged 22.6 points on 18.1 attempts per game during the regular season, was held to just nine points in Game 2 after scoring 19 in Game 1. The Wizards are now down 2-0 in the first-round playoff series as it heads over to Washington, so hopefully a lack of shots is one less grievance off Beal’s list.
