Carmelo Anthony likely to sit out what could be final game with Knicks
Carmelo Anthony may have already played his last game with the New York Knicks, and the fans aren’t even going to get to say a proper goodbye.
Anthony has been dealing with a knee injury that forced him to miss the last two games, and it will likely keep him out of New York’s season finale against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday as well.
Jeff Hornacek doesn't expect Carmelo Anthony or Kristaps Porzingis to play in the season finale Wednesday.

It’s no secret that Phil Jackson wanted to trade Anthony during the season, but nothing ever came of it. While Carmelo’s history of knee problems could make him difficult to move during the offseason, it seems like the relationship between him and Jackson is tarnished beyond repair.
By losing on Wednesday, the Knicks would guarantee themselves the sixth-worst record in the NBA. Even if Anthony was feeling up to playing, he would probably be forced to sit.
At this point, a divorce seems inevitable. Even one of Jackson’s former players feels the executive has treated Anthony unfairly, and Carmelo probably doesn’t want to stay in New York any longer as long as Jackson is in charge.
