Report: Cavaliers already fielding ‘numerous calls’ about Brooklyn pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers may or may not be done dealing, but other teams are reportedly trying to convince them to think about at least one more move.

According to Joe Vardon of cleveland.com, the Cavaliers have been taking “numerous calls” about the Brooklyn Nets’ first-round pick they acquired as part of the Kyrie Irving deal. Cleveland appears unlikely to move the pick now, but they could do so in a major deal later this year or simply keep the selection, which could wind up in the top five.

The Cavaliers also have their own first-rounder and a number of trade exceptions, meaning they will have options if a full rebuild is necessary.

A lot of Cleveland’s future planning will ultimately depend on what LeBron James does, which owner Dan Gilbert is very aware of. They could be in for a major shake-up next summer.
