Cavs reportedly interested in trading for George Hill

The Cleveland Cavaliers have expressed interest in trading with the Sacramento Kings for guard George Hill, according to a report.

The Vertical’s Shams Charania reports the news about the Cavs’ interest in Hill. He says the Cavs would have interest in playing Hill either as a starter at either guard position, or as a reserve player.

Hill was one of the veterans the Kings signed in the offseason, along with Zach Randolph and Vince Carter. But as the team has gotten off to a poor start, they have turned their focus to playing more of their young guys. As a result, Hill will not be seeing as many minutes, so a trade would make sense.

Hill signed a 3-year, $57 million contract over the offseason.

The Cavs have Isaiah Thomas and JR Smith as their starting guards. Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose and Jose Calderon provide depth. Adding Hill would certainly give the Cavs more depth, but it’s hard to imagine him being the difference in the wide gap between the Cavs and Warriors.
