Celtics reportedly will pursue Kevin Love, Robin Lopez
Kevin Love opting out of his contract Wednesday made big news around the NBA and could lead to his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With how well Tristan Thompson played after replacing the injured Love in the Cavs’ starting lineup, many believe Cleveland wouldn’t mind getting rid of Love via sign-and-trade.
Though Love may want to return to the Cavs, he could visit with other teams. One of those teams could be the Celtics, and Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski says Boston has a plan for their sales pitch to the forward.
Sources: If Kevin Love goes forward with visits in July, expect Boston to sell him on pursuing group of Love, Robin Lopez and…Paul Pierce.

Additionally, ESPN’s Marc Stein says the Lakers and Trail Blazers are teams that could also have interest in Love.
Sources tell ESPN.com that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Celtics are among the teams planning to make a run at Love in free agency. Sources say that the Portland Trail Blazers, furthermore, are likely to pursue the former Oregon high school star in the event that LaMarcus Aldridge — as many league executives expect — flees the Blazers in free agency.
I’m guessing Love will end up with either the Lakers or Celtics. He probably would prefer the Lakers, but Boston has more to offer Cleveland in a trade.
