Celtics use Rock Paper Scissors to decide free throw shooter
The Celtics needed someone to take a free throw during their game against the Heat on Sunday so they went with an old school method to decide.
With less than a minute remaining in regulation, Justise Winslow was assessed a technical foul for a kneeing Marcus Smart while the Celtics guard was driving to the basket. Isaiah Thomas is Boston’s best free throw shooter, but he was ejected after picking up a Flagrant 2 foul. So, Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley played Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide who would take the shot.
Crowder went with paper and Bradley chose rock, so it was Crowder who did the honors. Unfortunately, he missed the free throw.
With a straight face on Monday, Stevens said the game is an important part of Boston’s game plan.
A simple game of rock-paper-scissors is an important part of the Celtics game plan, according to Brad Stevens. Learn why here: pic.twitter.com/NorgGXfmTX

I wonder how many times Bradley has hit Crowder with “You know I would’ve made it, right?”
